Some Frequently Asked Questions...

1. Does your company only install large systems?

No, not at all. Large integrated systems are just part of our work. We install standalone systems such as alarms, CCTV, Audio systems, TV's, Intercoms, Wi-Fi, Networks, Lighting systems & Blinds.

We do use the same brands that we use for all of our work, so you still get the same quality and same team installing.

2. Can I automate just parts of my property?

Of course. If you are refurbishing or building new, we recommend that you make provision for allowing your system to be in every area but the installation can be done at a later date if you choose.

5. Why would I need a touchscreen system with Lighting & Shading Control?

Touchscreen systems allow convenience. Allowing you to control and see the status of multiple systems from a single place. They also take away the necessity to understand technology and just give you a simple interface to make changes.

3. Why do you only use Lutron Homeworks for Lighting controls?

Excellent question. In the past we have tried other brands - iLight, Helvar, Crestron, Rako, Mode, Clipsal and a few other....nothing touches the reliability an functionality of Lutron QSX Homeworks. No one offers the warranty that Lutron does - 8 Years!!!! and the ability to interface to products in the way Lutron does. Also, the user has access to a free cloud app, to control their home system from anywhere.

We try to offer customers the most reliable, cost effective solution which will give them trouble free operation and perform the function that they need it to. As an all rounder, Lutron fits this.

We do also provide KNX, if a customer particularly requests it. However, long term, KNX can cost in maintenance, due to the various companies who manufacture KNX equipment deciding to "end of line" Visualisation software/servers and other equipment which contain custom features. KNX appears cost effective at the start of a project but there are hidden costs for features that Lutron already has built in. Plus, KNX Warranty is only 2 years.

4. Do I need a touchscreen system with Lighting & Shading Control?

No. It's a standalone system that can just be left to run. Lutron allow a cloud app to be used on mobile devices, which is free, and we can set up the programming so that, to a degree, you can make your own programming changes. Some elements will still need a specialist programmer, but scene changes and timeclocks can be ammended by you.

6. I have an existing system but it's not working, Can you help me?

We can certainly try to assist. If what you have is password protected or needs a "dealer" for that particular product, we may not be able to. But there is always the option to change product, or we may be able to contact someone else to assist you.

7. Do I have to register my Alarm and/or CCTV system?

In short. if you have an alarm system that has a siren or panic button, yes it has to be registered with the local GNR. We provide paperwork for this for a small fee and after you or your representative sign the documents, we will file them with the GNR.

CCTV does not need to be registered but we usually register it if we install an alarm system and CCTV. However, the CCTV system must still comply with legislation.

8. I want to have a connection back to the UK so that I can receive TV service, can this be done?

We can provide you with a home network that functions as normal but also provides a Virtual Private Network to the UK (or other countries) to satisfy the Streaming services that your location is the UK. We would then connect your TV to this network, which is separated from your normal home network. the reason for doing this is that the VPN would give you lower speeds, used on a daily basis. So only your TV's are connected to this.

We can also restrict access for browsing for children or visitors.

9. If you install an alarm for us, can it be controlled by an app and can we have multiple codes for staff and family. Also, can we restrict who has access to the gate and when?

Yes....and Yes.

Usually the gate system and the alarm are two separate items. But yes, multiple gate and alarm codes can be issued.

Gate codes can be restricted by hour and by day - so you can allow, say, your gardener and pool team to only access the property on a specific day between certain hours. Other than that, they could call you and you can give them access and exit when required via the app.

The alarm can be done in a similar manner. Again, if contractors need access, we can provide you with an access control system that allows them access via a phone app(or a fob or access code), but can be restricted by you - by area, by day & by hour. It's very flexible. You can also issue temporary access codes that are only valid for specific periods - this is great for if you are having work done by contractors or if family are visiting.

The Gate intercom will also allow you to answer calls, open the gate & call the gate from your mobile device. This is usually a paid app.

10. How much does a home cinema cost?

Difficult question this one!  How long is a piece of string?

This all depends  how far you want to go. Do you just want some large screen entertainment with good sound or do you want a fully fitted out room with Dolby Atmos sound and a high quality laser projector? This can run from a few thousand euros to a hundred thousand euros plus....

A discussion is needed to find out what you really need and then build around this. There is no single answer, unfortunately.
